THE catwalk at this year's International Fashion Week will be graced by Gympie's own modelling beauty Anastasia Potter.
While this year's event will be the charming 19-year-old Gympie product's third, it will be her first as the face of week that keeps the Sunshine Coast at the forefront of the fash-pack.
When asked how she felt about the new appointment, she said she was "thrilled to be chosen".
Now in its 6th year, this unique event showcases cutting edge fashion from up and coming designers in eclectic genres.
The event will be staged at various venues across the Sunshine Coast with the Palmer Coolum Resort featured as the main stage.
This year's International Fashion Week will include indigenous, swimwear, ready to wear and ethical design runway shows, a trade lounge offering designers the opportunity to sell direct to retailers and public and an educational and mentoring forum for the creative industries called Frocks and Vines.
A key aim of the fashion week also sees fashion promoted alongside environmental and ethical design components.
This year, guests at International Fashion Week will see an expanison of the event into more creative genres by highlighting trends and innovations from other creative industries.
While celebrating the art behind fashion, this year's event will support local talent, increase awareness about the wide reaching impact of fashion within the community and the substantial influence it can have to tourism and economic growth to the region.
With established long term partnerships, sustained growth and an innovative vision for the future, International Fashion Week is set to be a globally recognised force on the fashion circuit, and it has a Gympie name leading the way.
